This was taken on a summer evening’s walk to Alport Castles above Howden moor although on arriving there was a layer of low thick grey cloud over Alport Castles which was my planned shot but looking across to the other side of the valley the sun had broken through adding isolated splashes of light to the landscape so I swapped to my telephoto lens to pick out some detail shots. I was attracted to the light falling onto the steep hillside on the far side of Snake Pass about 2 miles from me where these farm buildings looked to be dwarfed by the sheer size of those hills.
