This is one of my favourite places and is lovely to photograph at any time of the year but certainly the best time is in August when you have the pinks and purples of the heather to add contrast to the rich greens of the bracken growing over the hillside.
I spent a bit of time here waiting for some cloud to pass overhead to diffuse the sun which was directly above me plus a sky with some cloud always looks better than one without. For this shot I used a 4 stop soft grad at an angle following the slope of the bank to bring out the detail of the clouds, a polarising filter to remove the reflections from the water's surface and boost the saturation levels of the foliage plus a 6 stop ND filter to add a little movement to the water.
