Winyards Nick lies approx 1/2 way between Higger and Over Owler Tor and only consists of a small selection of gritstone but has a tremendous view down over the Hope Valley. It doesn't get photographed much so it was nice to be able to have some nice light to try and do it justice.
Once the sun had dropped low enough to emerge through the clouds the whole scene was transformed bringing out all the colours and textures in the landscape, the clouds themselves were moving quickly overhead so I added a 10 stop ND filter to extend the exposure to exaggerate this movement producing a lovely soft blur to the sky which I think contrasts nicely with the hard gritstone in the foreground.
