150. Curbar mists
150. Curbar mists

Saturday morning I looked out of the window at 04:30 to see thick fog so I just had to get out for the sunrise. My car was completely solid with ice with even the doors frozen stuck so it was a bit of a struggle getting in and defrosted. I drove through the valley at a crawl with the fog so thick you could only see a few yards ahead and kept my fingers crossed that I would get above it as I climbed up through Curbar towards the edge. I needn’t have worried as I drove up through the fog to find some stunning conditions so I headed quickly onto the edge with a big grin on my face. The pre dawn light was stunning producing some wonderful soft pastel tones with the heavy frost adding a nice contrast to the old heather and grasses where I captured this view looking towards Baslow Edge.
