55. Dawn over Leash Fen
55. Dawn over Leash Fen

Saturday morning with fog forecast I got up early and headed out for the sunrise, it was -5 degs at my house with a hard frost and fog so thick you could only see a few yards so didn’t know what it would be like up on higher ground. I decided to head over to Curbar Edge and was delighted to see the fog thinning as I drove up the hill and reaching the top was met by clear skies and expansive views in all directions. The pre dawn light was stunning producing gorgeous soft pastel tones so I quickly set off to find a suitable composition to make the most of them. This hawthorn tree caught my eye surrounded by frost covered bracken with the view over to Leash Fen was my first shot of the morning captured 40 minutes before the sunrise.
