Back from a long weekend in the Lake District, the forecast was looking good for the Friday with heavy rain over the rest of the weekend so I decided to make the most of Friday setting off at 3am to get to Wastwater in time for the sunrise. It was a good dry drive all the way until 10 minutes before arriving at the location when the heavens opened and it started hammering it down! Not to be deterred and with umbrellas at the ready I braved the rain, looked for a composition then set up my tripod to be ready for the sunrise. Luckily the rain started to ease and colour gradually started to bleed through the clouds and with the umbrella keeping most of the rain off the filters I got to take my first shots of the day.
