Wednesday evening and with clear skies I headed out to do a spot of Astro photography. The Derwent Dam makes a great location to do a star trail as Polaris (the North Star) sits directly above the centre of the dam. I set up my camera and started the exposure which unfortunately coincided with dozens of runners passing in front of the camera with very bright head torches ruining the shots so it took a good few attempts to get a clear unobstructed view. I also added extra illumination by walking the length of the dam wall and towers light painting it with my my big torch.
