Wednesday evening I initially went up onto Higger Tor for the sunset but after arriving there to see the heather on its way out and dull overcast conditions I decided to move down to Mitchell field and get amongst the bracken. I spotted an area with a nice display of Rosebay willowherb adding a lovely splash of pink so found a composition that I was happy with. I could see a clear area of sky along the horizon so knew as soon as the sun dropped into it it would light up the valley and flood the foreground with some lovely golden light.
