A sunset shoot at Back Tor had been planned a good while ago with August being the optimum time to get the sun in just the right position (plus the added bonus of having the heather in flower) so with a good forecast on Saturday I made the slog up over the moor to get to the highest point on Derwent Edge. I arrived hot and sweaty and initially it didn’t look too promising with hardly a cloud in the sky but luckily some high cloud started to drift in with the stiff breeze and by the time the sun was setting there was enough to add some lovely colour and give me a chance to get a few nice shots and once the sun had set the afterglow kicked in creating some lovely colours with some really interesting clouds suspended above Back Tor trigpoint.
