The Castleton and Hope Valley photographic society decided to have an evening out and go for a sunset.
We chose to go up to Higger Tor as it is an easy location to get to with plenty of parking.
We arrived to find thick clouds and a cold wind but made the most of things practising compositions and using filters etc. The time for sunset drew near and there was no sign of any sun so the majority of members decided to call it a day and go home. Not to be deterred 3 of us braved it out and continued to wait when gradually the sky began to change and a hint of pink started to show through and over the following 10 minutes gave us a fantastic display of vibrant colour which nicely complimented the pinks of the new heather. Needless to say we were delighted to have stayed and goes to show that sometimes waiting pays off.
