I went down to my favourite pier in Puerto Pollenca to capture the sunrise, I arrived 40 minutes before it was due so had plenty of time to try something a bit different while waiting for the sun to appear.
The pre dawn colours were already showing themselves reflecting beautifully over the flat calm sea as I set up my camera choosing to use the symmetry of the pier as the basis of my composition.
I wanted to add swirling patterns along the pier with my pixelwhip but the light levels would've been much too high to record the full movement without overexposing the image so I swapped to the 'Live Composite' mode after calculating that I needed a 10 second exposure for the scene (including 3 stop ND filter).
All I had to do then was open the shutter, fire up my pixelwhip and leisurely add the sweeping pattern as I moved up the pier.
